To this end, we implemented a solution based on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, leveraging existing hardware wherever possible. Data migration of the file system and email was undertaken while minimising disruption and hence maximising business continuity.

• New Dell PowerEdge server, consolidating 2 existing servers which were approaching end-of-life
• Utilising existing hardware where possible
• Optimal integration achieved with existing Apple Mac machines using Entourage
• Configuration of remote access facilities including web-based email access and a Virtual Private Network (VPN) for remote file access
• Installation and configuration of a centralised anti-virus solution for the Windows desktop systems
