Redfox Small Business Server
Autumn 2004
We were asked to modernise the Redfox IT systems. The peer-to-peer systems were migrated into a new Windows Small Business Server 2003 domain. Data was centralised for the first time allowing access control and the installation of a single tape backup solution.
Email was brought together from the old “POP to desktop” configuration, seen in many small businesses, to the much more powerful and flexible Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server. Email, calendar and contact sharing was enabled and configured, transforming the way the staff worked.
- New Dell PowerEdge server
- Configuration of remote access facilities including web-based email access and a Virtual Private Network (VPN) for remote file access
- Installation and configuration of a centralised anti-virus solution for the Windows systems
- Centralised data store for email, files and line-of-business applications
